Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day weekend. Dustin and I took a trip down to Miami to visit my family (Miami is where I am originally from). We had a BLAST...we packed so many things in just 3 days. We took a tour of Miami which included a tour of "Star Island" (an island near Miami Beach where celebrities have bought homes). We saw Jackie Chan's house, Shaq's (Miami Heat basketball player), Ricky Martin, Will Smith, and many more! We then ate at possibly every Cuban restaurant in Miami (haha it sure seemed like it anyway) where Dustin inhaled sweet plantains (his absolute favorite Cuban side). In many restaurants your choices of sides may include mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, etc. but in Miami...sides consist of sweet plantains, and black beans and rice!
The very next day we went down to Key West and enjoyed the shops and a tour of the island on a trolley. If you ever get the chance of visiting Key West, don't leave without having a Chocolate dipped Key Lime pie on a stick; they are absolutely delicious. The day after that we took an air boat ride in the Everglades...it was a little scary because it's mating season for gators so they were EVERYWHERE! Well, I won't keep rambling but I wanted to share our fun filled weekend! Hope to hear from your holiday weekend. =)
